Ok, so I’ve been spending a lot of time in the sites that I’ve gathered from other folks…had to dedicate one folder in my favorites to whistles, tunes, etc… currently http://www.tinwhistler.com is the one I spend the most time wandering through. I have more fun tooting on the more familiar tunes, and have also been enjoying working on some of the less-familiar tunes (some of which actually turn out to be songs I am familiar with!)
But now I have a problem I wasn’t having before, or just didn’t notice.
I’ll take the tune “The Irish Washerwoman” as an example. It seems to be faster than what I’m used to playing and I’m slowly working up to speed, once I know all the notes are there. I am also getting to where I am able play the first two lines (before it repeats) in the same breath.. more than what I’m used to doing.
But when I begin the repeat, and then get into the second half of the tune, I notice there’s a lot more dripping than what I’d seen before. Is this a result of fewer breaths and/or it’s faster than what I’ve been playing? Or is there something else I’m not doing quite right?
(I’m more wondering is there a way to work around this so it won’t be so noticable, or will I have start aiming my whistle over a sponge?)
