well I live in Milwaukee (basically) and I am still asking myself that question.
I would say call
Derry Hegarty’s pub (great place, played highland pipes there a few times, no official session though)
And CALL
Moe’s Irish Pub
- it’s right downtown and it usually has music, they may let you play. They have a sort of raised stage near the wrap around bar. (played there too)
Also If you can play there tell me when so I can show up and watch.
I go to school in Milwaukee. Right now, I’m living in Sheboygan (about 45 minutes north). I also had a hard time finding places to play. At UWM, I am part of the celtic music club, who met monthly to session/tune swap. I don’t believe we’re meeting over the summer though. In Plymouth, there’s a great pub, 52 Stafford, that has a session every Wednesday night. Its pretty informal, and a great time. It would be a bit of a drive (about 45 minutes).
