might be going to ireland this summer!!!

Hi all,
I just thought to share my great news with everyone! My mum just told me that she might be taking me to Ireland this summer! My friend’s mom, told my mom about an Irish dance cycling tour of Ireland. It’s called Irish Cycling Safaris-Set Dancing Tour. I would be starting out in Ennis and ending up in Kilfenora. So I thought to see if anyone knows of any good places to visit while in Ireland.

cio!

Shouldn’t be a very hard trip, Ennis Kilfenora is about 20 miles.
Plenty to see and do in the area though. Ask me again if you know more about the route, one of these cycling tours goes from Ennis to Lahinch [that would be a de-tour on the way to Kilfenora]on the first day and turns off at the cross roads a mile and a half from my house. May be a different one though.

The packet doesn’t mention Lahinch, but here’s the list of were I will be traveling through:

    Arrive in ennis
    Ennis to Kilrush
    Kilrush to Ennistimon
    Cliffs of Moher
    Dysert o’dea
    ennistimon to kilfenora

It would be great to meet some fellow chiff & fipplers while in Ireland. I also would be interested in knowing any good sessions.

Hi Caryn

When you’re in Ennis, you’ll be about an hour from Adare, by car. You must come and show me how the bodhran playing is coming on. You might want to sit in on one of our Wednesday night workshops.

Adare, is also very pretty and you’ll pass bunratty folkpark, a nice ‘touristy’ stop, on the way.

Sounds good Steve. I have been really enjoying playing my bodhran. Lots of fun! My fellow friend and tin whistle player also has had fun “borrowing” it from me  I was actually wondering how far I would be from Shanna Quay.

Sticking to the mainroads so, a great way to get used to the Irish traffic. You are probably not on the tour I was thinking of, that one took the backroads from Inagh to Lahinch before going to Ennistymon. Enough music can be found on the way, when you look in the right places.
