Recently I was thinking back to my days in elementary/middle school. Back then, they always liked to make ‘creativity’ a part of the grading process. However, creativity is an issue. I think that it is impossible for a person to describe their own work as creative, for if they do so, then they are making what they precieve the rest of the world would precieve to be so, thus making it not creative at all. Faced with this problem, I knew something needed to be done.
After extensive field research (like looking through my savings box and surveying so-called ‘creative’ works of youngsters in school), I have developed the following mathematical formula that is gaurenteed to produce a highly pure level of creativity. *NOTE: the process about to be outlined should NOT be attempted by the faint of spirit. I cannot be held responsible for phillistine teachers’ dis-approval of a student’s work under my method. I cannot be liable if your kid (or you
) end up being scared for life as a result of this method.
Creativity:
Creativity (C) is composed of Block Letters (B); Random Scribble Lines (L); Doodles such as the Sun (Ds), a smiley face (Ds) or a Stick Man (Dm); and approx. 1 American pound, that is LB, of Glitter (G).
The basic formula looks like this:
C = B + L + Dx + G
The basic form is under construction. For example, I would recommend that for a 3 inch square area, there should be no less than than 5 random lines. The shape of these is entirely up to the creator. I am currently working on using a quadratic proof to find the exact number, so it cn be worked out mathematically (thus giving the formula more ‘mathemat-itude’ as I like to call it). For doodles, again, a mathematically correct way of determining shapes and placement is in the works; use your best judgment (ie, if decorating the cover for a job interview, I would suggest the use of the smiley face, with conservative placement of a sun or two).
I realize that often there isn’t much time to be ‘creative’, or a need to be creative will be brought to your attention at 10pm the night before its due. In any case, I have discovered the following:
B + L + Dx = 3G
Simply by subsittuting in an extra pound of glitter for any other varriable, you can keep the formula true.
I hope that my work in the field of ‘creativity’ can, one day, be viewed as a benefit to humanity. I will be happy to field all questions and listen to all suggestions you may have. If you should use the formula, I’d be interested to hear your personal results. Best of luck!!
