Its interesting, though, to see that the elements are all there for a lo-res image to kick off the original furor.

Nah.
It is interesting, though…
Lots of really smooth curves and really straight lines…lots of symmetry, especially around the outer edge, for something formed by natural erosion.
Not saying that it wasn’t formed that way, mind you–just saying that no matter how it got there, it’s still rather spectacular.
