Was browsing around, and found that the Lunasa site has available sheet music for songs from their albums. Go to http://www.lunasa.ie, click on the Music Notes, and there it is! Click on the sheet of music, wait a second, and a small button will appear to enlarge it.
New song every two weeks, and it looks like they will be having a music book with songs from all their albums due out in the fall. If you like lunasa (They use a LOT of whistles, pipes, flutes in their music), this is a good thing to watch for.
Only one problem with that – that page dates from summer 2001, and “Rosie’s Reel”, to the best of my knowledge, is the only tune they ever posted on it.
Since they already already missed the original autumn 2001 release, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for an autumn 2002 release.
With a tour schedule like theirs, I would be surprised if it comes out by this autumn too. I’m sure it will sell as well as their CDs if it ever does come out since most Irish music afficionados are part-time musicians themselves.
Slainte!
