looking for good g and a

I’m looking for a good lo “g” (like a water weasel) and a good “a.” Willing to talk trade or $$$. Prefer trade. Please e-mail off the board if interested.

Well, the only A I have played is my new Abell, and it rocks big time

It´s a “blackwoodflute-with-easy-to-blow-fipple” built in .

Seriously, the sound is soft, not to loud (the D is “much” louder) and very flutey.

Thinking on buying a G as well, probably will be a Copeland.

Pan,
That’s wonderful and only makes me salivate more. Gee, thanks . . . Ha!

TC: You may want to get on Mack Hoover’s short list. An aluminum A and G would be worthy of consideration. They are not expensive… For a few dollars more? Mike Burke…I don’t know about G’s, but he mentioned to me today that he has A AlPros with the black tip in stock.
Best.

The Copeland G is a great whistle.

Hey Tomcat!
You already know about my favorite A whistle…wait, actually, i don’t think you do. It’s my Sindt A. My favorite whistle of the whole range of keys and makers. The Chieftain Gold A is right near the top too, though…and much more suited for sessions.
Anyway, I have a Burke AlPro low G and a brass Bb. These whistles are outstanding! Easy blowing with very even volume between octaves. Pretty pure tone, but not as focused as a Hoover. The Bb is too quiet for session work, but very emotive. The G is louder, but it’s more difficult to bend the notes. I imagine that the A AlPro would be pretty darned sweet, based on the fact that I bracket it with a Bb and a G.
Good luck in your quest!
Eric

Hey Tomcat,

Mack Hoover made me a cpvc Ab that was so good that I begged him to make me a G and an A. Thay are all really wonderful and very reasonably priced.

Paul Hayward makes a great PVC G/A Silkstone set.

Great advice . . . thank you all . . . ah the choices we have to make in life. I kinda like the child at the ice cream store -overwhelmed, excited, and wanting them all!!

I love Mack’s whistles and have a very sweet CPVC A from Mack. Vapour, I’ve contacted Phil and he still has some of his gold A’s at a very good price too. Thanks again.
