Little Shop of Borers - Patrick Olwell's shop

I know it’s been a while since there was something fun to watch from the Olwell doc, so I pulled this short montage from the rough edit of the final film to give you an idea of what it’s like in Patrick’s shop. Even with all the shots in this clip, we were only able to film a small portion of the many layers that are there. With art, cartoons, sculptures, mobiles, tools, workbenches, memorabilia, books, and flutes of course, Patrick’s workplace is as much a part of this story as Patrick and Aaron are.

The music is from a live session Blayne and I attended in Baltimore, and all the music in the film will either be from live recordings in the shop or from sessions we attended while filming. I hope you enjoy this intimate look, and stay tuned for more updates as we start post-production of the film next month.

Jem, that’s fantastic. I just got word from Aaron that my flute will be ready by December, so it’s really nice to see the workshop and the tools and to know that that’s where it’s being made as we speak. Great stuff!

Thank you Jem. I’m looking forward to seeing this next year. I know after I see it I’ll develop a flute acquisition disorder.

Thank you so much.
Many of us are interested not only in flute music but the instrument itself and this promising film about the great Patrick Olwell is going to be wonderful for us.
Looking forward to see the whole stuff.
Best wishes.

Jem, its a “Classic” and it isn’t even finished yet. Craftsmanship documented by craftsmanship. Beautiful in every respect. Keep it going
