Read the threads here on Chiff. Great story! Other stories need to be told too.

It was a dark and stormy night.

Saw the film last night. It’s truly fine. Well done, one and all. Pat O is a luminous personality.

Fantastic insight to the maker, his instruments and their keepers.
Highly recommended.

Thanks for the kind words, Pat is indeed a luminous personality. I’m so happy to see the film get another chance at being seen, we had a great run with film festivals and premiers, but things had trailed off over the past year while I worked on getting it online. I am still trying to spread word to the various sessions around the world, as the music and viewpoints about Irish music seem to me very accessible to anyone who loves the music. My favorite positive comments, though, have come from folks who don’t know anything about ITM but still enjoy the story. I have to say that’s very satisfying.

Thanks again for helping to spread the word and for watching the film…

Thank you for your work in making it. Well done!

I was always measuring flutes in unusual circumstances…

Really enjoyed spending an hour and a half watching this instead of doing what I was supposed to be working on last night. Excellent film - thanks for making it.

Thank you for giving up important tasks just to watch my film, that’s the best compliment of all! But seriously, I’m really glad you enjoyed it, it was a blast making it, even though it was a year-and-a-half in the making…

Hey Jem.

Maybe you have a list of the tunes played in the movie?

Cheers

Jem,

I just want to let you know how much I loved this film. It was simply beautiful. Thank you for making it. One question - do you have any more footage from the scene with Brian Finnegan playing? I’d love to see/hear him playing the entire tune. The arrangement with the piano is simply beautiful.

Thanks,
Chris

Knock out, that was.

Unfortunately I do not have a tune list for all the players, or the tunes that are behind the talking at various points, a lot of people never told us the names, and I, of course, can never remember the names of half the tunes I know anyway. One of my goals was to put together the full versions of the tunes as a separate bonus track, but time moved on and the next project came up and it never came to fruition, my apologies.

As for Brian Finnegan’s portion, we didn’t even film that, he was in Eastern Europe touring and had someone film it after a sound check and sent us the file, so that’s all we have. We tried a couple of times to get the interview, but he’s a busy musician and we ran out of money and time in the end. I’m glad you enjoy the track though!

Thanks again for the kind words, I’m very happy the film is getting a second wind through downloads, and I hope it continues to reach into the community and beyond.

Wonderfully and lovingly constructed film. Well done!
