Wow, this has been a very hard week for me. Lost my good buddy to kidney failure. I had to memorialize him in some way, so I put together this little slide show. ITM content: The music, Casadh an Tsugain, was recorded by myself on my Olwell C flute and my friend Zac Leger, who did the guitar work.
Can empathize with your loss. Had to let my 12 yr old dog go on Monday due to kidney failure and other complications from rampant cancerous tumors growing in his liver, spleen and stomach. It is tough to loose good friends so unexpectedly. The house feels empty without him. He was the only one in the family who would come in and sit with me while I practice (still not sure how to take that…).
Also, my brother and ex-sister-in-law used to breed Bengals. They certainly are amazing cats. One that my brother still has as a pet is so vocal that her singing is loud enough to interfere with our phone calls. Another one, a male, plays fetch better than my dog ever did.
Nearly 20 years after I lost my wonderful cat, Lucky, I still talk about her and still miss her. You are quite right to say that he’ll always be with you. And a great gift it is, too. A continuing gift.
This is well timed. I love and play that tune and we just a few minutes ago had to say good-bye to our little friend Tuscany.
She was 15 and had a good life, but it was time, so we had to say good-bye. Thank you for providing a nice farewell. It provided some comfort for me as I’m sure it did for you.
A good little cat, was our Tuscany. I will miss her.
I am sorry for your loss, but thank you for such a nice remembrance.
Just wanted to say a big heartfelt Thank You to everyone who expressed sympathy, both on the board and via PM. To Ben, Latticino, and Cubitt - I am sorry for the losses you’ve experienced. The grief I’ve felt over losing Linus this week has been so painful, and I’m sure yours was no different. I’m touched by all the lovely comments. This week has been a little bit easier because of C and F.
