In my search for Early Period woodwinds, I kept coming across recorders -ducks, looks both ways- You see, my whistles are still in boxes, and have been for a couple of months now, sad, yes? My whistles are everywhere but where I am, and I’m afraid of the gremlins that might be lurking in those boxes. (its a long story)
So, Each time I come across a recorder, in my search for ellusive and rare woodwinds, I would feel this interesting chill creep down my spine, and felt absolutely compelled to come here, and say: “Hello!~ I’m not dead (yet)”
That is, of course, if folks remember me… and if you do not, Hello anyway!
I figured, it must be a sign from the gods that I should go forth, and find my whistles.
And, if you DO remember me, I’m in New York these days (a recent move, sort of…)
So, it’s been… A year? Since my last post/confession, And 8 months since my last good lurk… WhatdidImiss? And where is The BEHEMOTH LEGENDARY thread, mmm? -duck!-
Oooooh, Waterbury. Many a nice family dinner was had there with my friend Dave whilst I studied up at UHa. Alas, now I am in Oslo where it has begun to snow… sigh
However, yes, Waterbury is a bit dodgy, esp. with yer big glowing cross up on the hill…
I’m in Middletown NY these days Moved out here because Dad wanted to retire and go to North Carolina, we were going to move with them.
That diddnt quite pan out, so now we are kinda… stuck. -grins-
I’m not sure what we will do once we get back on our feet, go back to CT, go south, I know we most likely wont stay in New York, the money is worse out here and rents are 300 or so hundred higher ;/
Meanwhile I’m looking to get out of Connecticut and into New York! Looking at the Teach for America program for when I finish up school here, and that’s ideally where I’d want to teach to save from moving half way 'cross the country. Of course I’d be looking for lodgings outside Manhattan and commuting.
Hi Nyghtshayde, Yes… it’s been a while. I had wondered where you were. You would have made it to the next edition of the C&F “Where are they now”
There’s a Krispy Kreme near me and that jogs my memory from time to time. Hope things go well for you in your travels.
