Hello all,
I saw Ron’s post about The Denver Gathering on the Chiff and Fipple list and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Miriam Rosenblum and I teach whistle at Swallow Hill Music School in Denver. I took whistle and uillean pipes lessons from Bill Ochs of New York way back in the early 80’s and have been playing Irish music ever since. I’ve been teaching at Swallow Hill since the late 80’s. I teach traditional Irish-style playing to all ages and levels of students, including traditional ornamentation for whistle. Classes and private lessons are available.
If you’re interested in taking some lessons, or know others who are, I’m always looking for new students. People can contact Swallow Hill to arrange for lessons (303-770-2247) or contact me directly at miriam.rosenblum@mdx.com. My schedule at Swallow Hill is sometimes full, but I do teach out of my home near the Tech Center as well.
Thanks and happy whistling!
- Miriam
