Is there a lazy way to fix a thread wrapping which rotates on its’ tenon without having to rewrap the joint?
The joint seals ok and the thread is not visibly loose - it is just tricky trying to adjust the joint for tuning (this is a CB folk flute) since the thread twists around the joint.
(The thread might be slightly loose due to a period of relatively little playing, but I see no signs of it fixing itslef with the flute coming back into played-in condition.)
Try with some wax.
Add some waxed dental floss to whatever needs extra support.
On my FF it only took me a few minutes to wind it all off and wind it back on, using a little wax. It wasn’t tight and I didn’t wind it back tight either, just snug. I did wind it, rotating the body in my hand, in both directions, to avoid kinks. No big deal. That was about three years ago and it is still OK.
It took it off because as the flute ‘settled down’ I had to keep taking a little off, and sometimes putting it back on, and when it finally stabilised the outer layer was a bit untidy.

If my wrapping were spinning I’d just re-wrap, and I’d use maybe a light shmear of beeswax to get it anchored. Oh, and that’s a good stability detail you pointed out, there, Denny. 
Check with Casey. He’s usually about. But NB, IIRA, if you use PTFE tape or do certain other things you’ll void his warranty. I’m with the others - just whip it off and then whip it back on. 
It’s so easy to do it is the lazy way…
be calm, patient, relaxed
unwrap the string,
grease the sting,
rewrap in a almost haphazard manner - start near one of the ends
ya want to leave a wee dip across the center
check fit - decide which way to go
this will need to be done a couple’a three times while it adjusts to where you are
what ya do with the extra wrap
if ya cut it then it will be more work to make it longer
dangling it for a couple of weeks while y’all get used to each other
now if ya wrap the cut end, when you are done adjusting it, back to the center and manage to stick the sucker under two or more of the dip’s threads

I like to apply a little shellac to the tenon before wrapping the thread, keeps it from slipping later. the socket can become stuck if you have loose thread wrapping, s it binds when you take the flute apart, so good to take care of it.
ok, ok, ok,… I guess I’ll just rewrap it…
