I just got a call, and it looks like I’ll be teaching whistle at the Pipers Gathering in Killington, VT Aug, 13-16. Not sure of exact times, etc. but they should have all the info up soon on the site. http://pipersgathering.org/
Should be big musical fun up there in the Green Mountain State next month!
Drop in and play some tunes if you’re in the neighborhood. (Register first, however…).
This could make for a fantastic whistling weekend.
With L. E. McCullough as an instructor (and hopefully offering a workshop or two); Jerry Freeman, Sweetheart Flutes and Whistles, and Jon Swayne as vendors, and Bill Ochs doing a separate workshop on Friday… Expect lots of session opportunities.
Laura MacKenzie, the other whistle/flute instructor is no slouch either.
Haven’t received my official schedule yet, but it appears to be along these lines:
• 2 group instructional sessions on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings
• A presentation on any musically related topic on 1 of the afternoons
• A 20 minute performance in one of the evening in one of the evening concerts (Saturday and Sunday)
• Be available for 3 private lessons and “any additional lessons scheduled lessons”
…plus insane amounts of jamming, I presume… probably the most fun I’ve had on a Monday morning in quite some time. Wish they had French pipes, too — like this guy — http://www.sergelaine.com/
