Kinda long and maybe tedious...But

I’ve tried the link twice now, and both times it’s crashed Netscape. What a shame…that would be a nice thing to have available. Has anyone tried it with IE?

thanks for all the advice. I intend to print this off and tack it on the wall…When I get discouraged I can go back and reread all these words of wisdom..

Hey C4,

I heard Joanie Madden’s father got mad at her when she started playing whistle instead of fiddle.

Don’t get discouraged! Hang in there! Buy Loren’s low F Chieftain and use it to threaten the kids. :wink:

Hi C,
I just read your post, but not all the answers. Don’t worry about that ornamentation stuff. An occassional cut or tap, especially towards the end of a tune, is plenty. Rolls? Forget that nonsense! My rolls sound like I can’t find the right note. Dont’ worry about that.

Also, you may need a better whistle. I started on a Feadog that squeeked badly and it almost put me off whistling 'cause I couldn’t get it right. A Clarke Original got me back on track. If you can afford it, get one of those and a Walton’s Mellow D. Total cost will be about $15.00 for the pair.

Also, at first stick with slow airs.

Last piece of advice. Hop in the car and go someplace private to practice.

Hang in there.

Tom.

E=fb…Hi C sounds like a fruit drink:-)
I have what I think is a great whistle..Its a Dixon. What is really annoying is my 9yr old can pick it up and play the tune without trying..He can also pick out a tune by ear, so I guess he has a right to smirk when I play..He likes to get me laughing too.Have you ever tried to whistle and laugh at the same time? He does it to me every time in fact all I have to do is look in his direction and I start up.
