Without wishing to open any political/commercial debate/arguments etc - you know what I mean!

Kerry Pro Low D’s are the best low D whistles in the universe!

Mine is not for sale.

I also have a couple of Chieftains, ‘low’ and ‘high’.
The Kerry Pro is better.
They both need a good pressure for the upper octaves, or they drop out - i.e. fall back into the lower octave.
The Kerry Pro has a fuller/richer sound than the Chieftains, which I have to say, can buzz on the lowest note if not really warmed up i.e. play about ten minutes or so before they stop buzzing. If you back off on the pressure they stop, but the volumes dwindles too.

They (KP + C) are both loud whistles, so if yer granny lives nearby, she’ll be able to hear you, even without her hearing aid.

If you can get a Kerry Pro, you’ll not regret it. They are well made, and I believe widely considered to be at the very top in playability and quality.

If you can’t get one, then go for an Overton.
Having played both, I can’t tell the difference in sound and playability. They were/are the original design, and ‘Goldie’ still makes them, although you may have to wait on the list, as they are the most desired whistle made on this particular planet.

I have a Kerry Pro low D and I would consider parting with it.

I think it is a very fine whistle, except that I have trouble keeping the windway from getting clogged with moisture. I don’t know why (maybe I don’t want to know) but I seem to have more trouble with this than most people.
