John Belushi, we miss you buddy....

When a force of nature like John Belushi is lost, 25 years isn’t time enough to ease the grief or erase the laughter.

 I’ll second that thought

Thanks for the laughs

“Jake!”
“Elwood!”
“We’re on a mission from God!”
“Rawhide”

I liked in Animal House where he charged his mouth with a load of mashed potatoes, slapped his cheeks to cause them to spurt out and proclaimed, “I’m a pimple!” You just can’t get intellectualism like that on tv today.

My favorite quote! Use it at least once a week.

FOODFIGHT!!!

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

Favorite Animal House scene:

D-Day: War’s over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: [whispering] Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he’s rolling.

Thanks, John. Almost thirty years later, it’s still funny.

Favourite JB lines from SNL:

“Chee-bugga, chee-bugga. No Pepsi - Coke! Cheeps - no fries!”

“I’m so hungry I could suck a baby’s butt through a park bench.”

Man! Now that’s literature for ya!

Samari - whatever…

Killer Bees

I still remember the skit he did where he was “chair” dancing to that song from Flashdance. And the water comes down at the end.

40 years hasn’t gotten me over Richard Farina.

Wow. Richard Farina! I sometimes think of him and Mimi, whilst in the midst of Celebrating a Grey Day. Pack up your sorrows…

A bit different than the JB memories!!!

“It’s a hundred six miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.”

“Hit it.”

:sunglasses:

My absolute favourite line from Blues Brothers: “Ya don’t like it?”

Oops! That was Dan Akroyd. :astonished:

“The Tattaglia family has caused me great personal grief.”

And watching him do Beethoven never ceases to crack me up. Easily the funniest person ever to be on SNL, and a tragedy in every sense of the word.

My favorite scene from the Blues Brothers with Belushi was silent- when confronted by the "mysterious lady(Carrie Fisher)he took off his glasses and did the “look”. He spoke volumes with those eyebrows.

I think I’d have to say the Samari on SNL was the one that could always be counted on. But doing Joe Cocker, side by side with Joe Cocker really was great too. Oh and then there was sailing the “Raging Queen”,Killer Bees, Beethoven, heck just might as well say 'em all.

Again with Animal House, how do you even begin. I’d hate to think how many times I’ve seen that, and it’s still funny. My favorite scene from that movie is during the toga party, when Belushi bashes the folkie’s guitar. A close second is when he cries in despair over the broken liquor during their eviction from their frat house.

My understanding is that that entire scene was improvisation on Belushi’s part.

I’d heard that somewhere too…

Some trivia for you geeks…

Which Star Trek TNG episode payed an homage to that scene?

What a Qpid question.
