I think it looks like stripes in a tabby’s fur. You’d really have to be seeing things to see anybody’s face in there–and who knows what Jesus looked like!!!
That was one of my favorite Simpson’s moments. For months, I slipped that
word into conversation every chance I got (which, as you guess is all too
infrequent).
I believe it was when Homer was praying toward the ceiling, and Marge
comes in to reveal that he had been praying to a pancake that had been
stuck to the ceiling, which Homer subsequently ate.
“Mmmmm, sacrelicious…”
John the Revelator describes Him in the Bible. You can say it is symbolical imagery, and I’d have to agree that it is His essence that is important and not His eye-color or complexion. That is true of all of us. I am not my hair color.
“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”
My feet are like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace if I carelessly wear shoes with rubber insoles. My eyes are as a flame of fire, especially if I’ve been reading too much and have eye-strain. My voice is definetely as the sound of many waters, and often people have difficulty making out what I say. And the white as wool bit - obviously, yes. I’ve been taken for the big man before now.
