Jessie's House-Funding Sale!

Great post, Mitch. Thank you.

Because you’re not the only one who lacks the cash to buy them…

Yup. Times are tight.

Yup. Times are tight.

Seriously.

Otherwise the silver Copeland would be headed to our house.

Our closing is scheduled for one week from today. Some special whistles are still available: 3 Copelands (the Bb is the best player still available), Thin Weasel blackwood d, Abell blackwood d, and more.

If you’re on the fence about some of the remaining instruments, now’s the time.

 Jessie

I can’t take it any more!

E-mail sent.

I will also “cave in”. I need new jewlery. :smiling_imp:

Well, I waited too long, so I guess I’ll end up with only one of Jessie’s whistles…

I got The Copeland brass A, which arrived yesterday! It is wonderful. It pained me to leave the house this morning without it.

Last time I looked, the Copeland brass Bb was still available.

I NEEDED to obtain the Low D. What other whistle had you hoped for MusicalADD?

Uh-oh, Dave and Leo…war coming on. You two wanted the same one. :astonished:

Hah… war? No, no… we can commiserate over “the one that got away”!

Yeah, I inquired about the low D, too late. The responsible part of me is glad I was too late to get the low D, because, getting TWO Copelands? That would kind of be an embarrassment of riches, wouldn’t it?

It didn’t get away from Leo, though. It is going from my collection to Leo’s house. He beat you by about 25 minutes.

The responsible part of me is glad I was too late to get the low D, because, getting TWO Copelands? That would kind of be an embarrassment of riches, wouldn’t it?

Well, gee, I have a whole bunch more than 2.

OHHhhhh…

Well. I guess all’s well that ends well, as I didn’t truly need the low D, I merely wanted it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

And, of course you’ve had numerous Copelands, Jessie, but, I’m guessing you didn’t acquire them all in one week ?

Hmm. No, not all of them, but up to 4 acquired at the same time.

Not counting those listed, I have 6 Copelands that will stay with me as long as possible.

I had a feeling that the low D was gonna go soon. I couldn’t take it any more. I just got my first Copeland last week, brass C. Now of course Jessie’s Lovely whistle. I think that I will call her “Jessie” if I may.

Hmmm, what else might I need next? Bb or possibly high D?

HELP! I CAN’T STOP!!! :boggle: -Leo

There are some fine recorders, but I bet most of you don’t care about those. Whistles left for sale (with detailed descriptions and pictures in the first post of this thread) are:

Abell Blackwood d - it was made for me

Burke Composite d - an early one, the kind that sparked Burke mania

Copeland Early Philadelphia mark Nickel d - sweet and simple in tone and playability, not at all shrill

Dixon Honeymoon d - Read the description.

Humphreys (Raindog) d - similar in playability to a Sindt, but a bit more full and round in tone

Thin Weasel Blackwood d - a perfect example of Glenn’s best work

Water Weasel A - also lovely

Enjoy!

Today (Monday) and tomorrow only, everything is discounted in the first post of this thread! I have added some details to my descriptions of some whistles. Non-whistle instruments and sold instruments are moved to the second post of this thread, so as not to crowd the first.

Our closing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Today is the last day of the sale. I’ll close it tomorrow morning. There are 5 whistles left.

Jessie,

Good thing that folks around here aren’t into bluegrass…
