J WALLIS & SON 135 EUSTON ROAD LONDON

Did anyone in the C&F family win this flute on eBay, it closed today. I didn’t bid on it, but would like to get the details on the flute when they receive it. The Wallis looks like a twin to my Blackman flute with the machined crown and rings, just want to see how close a match it is. Looks like it is a real find!

Jezzuz Jon,

You weren’t kidding.

I would think that was the exact same Blackman you have that you kindly let me stable for a few months.

I got to know it very well.

The Rose engine turned cap and bands can’t be from another maker.

Very curious indeed.

Whoever won that flute most likely got a very good player if it is anything at all like the example you have.

Ah-h-h-h-h
Jon, I thought seriously about bidding on the Wallis and sending it directly to you to have it checked over and repaired. I hope you get a positive reply.
Paul

i have a flute just like this one as well. the rings are the same (wide with a bead)…bushings, lip plate…but the rings are not decorated and no makers mark.
nice player.
