I just recently purchased a Burke brass Bb whistle and I love the thing. My hands are too small to play low whistles but I manage the Bb fine and it has that deep flutey sound that I just love. No matter how many whistles I buy I keep falling in love with another. Fickle, ain’t I?

I’m the same way with my brass Feadog in C. I just love the sound. But I gave my whistles a rest as I’ve now fallen in love with the quena…and the bansuri.

As I said in the ‘Which Burke to Buy?’ thread you can’t go wrong with one of his Bbs, glad to see you followed my advice.
Seriously though the Burke Brass Bb is a real winner and I am sure you will enjoy that whistle for years to come; I know I’ve enjoyed mine for quite some time.
It seems like I fall in love with every whistle I own after I get used to it. My low D is still my favorite though, after the initial infatuation ends with another one.
And this thread the day before Valentines day…

I can see how this is going. You are on the slope and sliding. Buy a Burke A, then a low G, then an F. Come to grips with the 'super duper ez grip". Get a low E and then a low D. Your hands aren’t too small, they just need some practice. You can do it!
Enjoy the Burke Bb. That is a nice whistle.

Get yourself a copy of Mick O’Brien’s Kitty Lie Over. Great CD and lots of tracks in Bb so you can play along.
