First a “Gulag,” and now prison ships. Of course the US government has trained dictators they have installed to do these things, but now the US is suspected for doing it directly. This underlines why there needs to be an independent International investigation into these matters right away.
The United Nations says it has learned
of serious allegations that the US is secretly
detaining terrorism suspects, notably on
American military ships.
Y’know, some folks will trash this article 'cause it’s an accusation based on nothing but rumors, while others will defend it by saying that even rumors should be investigated. Until more info is available, this will just generate more bickering.
(I tend to fall on the “investigate it” side, myself.)
You’re right, but my purpose in posting it is to add evidence to why there needs to be an independent investigation of this stuff. Some folks (on other threads) were arguing that investigations aren’t worth bothering with, and others that the US Military’s investigations were adequate. This sort of thing indicates that the US lacks the credibility to investigate itself.
