Is Mr. Woof still taking orders?

Hi guys,
do you know if Mr. Woof is still taking orders? If yes, how can I get in touch with him? If you have any e-mail address please PM me.

It’s been said his list runs well into retirement…
Contact information is on NPU’s website:
http://www.pipers.ie/en/pipemakers.lasso

His waiting list is well past a reasonable retirement age. He doesn’t like his e-mail to get out but you can try giving him a call while he’s still in Ireland. he’s in the book (which is on-line somewhere at www.eircom.net)

Wooff is leaving Ireland? You’ve got some good gossip?

djm

You’re months behind, you are. And you took the bait nicely.

Froment’s gone too by the way.

As am I. Where is he (Woof that is. I know where Froment went) off to now?

t

Moving to Florida.

… rrrrrrright…

I also don’t sit on info. Geoff Wooff is moving to Southern France in the near future for health reasons (plus a warmer climate and real estate is more affordable than Ireland). He will still be making UPs.

Don’t forget the food…though I guess that might fall under “health reasons”.

Also the local wine!

Good man Geoff! Hope it all works out beautifully, you deserve it.

Patrick.

I bet you were thinking Wooff & Smith pipes, or would that be Smith & Wooff uilleann pipes

Smooff pipes.

You can write Geoff Wooff, Pipemaker, Miltown Malbay, Co Clare, Ireland. Pipemakers are a great source for knowing where second-hand sets are.

Smwiffpipes? No no no no no no no no no no… tasteless and terrible of me to even think it!!!

As J. McGuire said, write him and find out.

Having moved from Ireland to Perth (Australia) many years ago, I could never imagine how Geoff managed to survive the opposite move - from Perth to Clare. Clare/South Galway is a wonderful place - for people, scenery, and above all music, but the climate is a killer! Two weeks there this “summer” confirms it. Maybe Geoff will eventually return to Perth?

Thanks Jim, I’ll surely do! Hope he’ll have the time to answer… I’m getting more and more “in love” with his work… And, let’s say it, as long as he’s alive it’s worth getting one of his pearls no matter if new or second-hand!

Concerning the fact that he’s might moving to southern france, well, I’m really looking forward to since I’m but 4-5 hours driving far from there!

His waiting period is something like 15 years. Don’t hold your breath.

Froment’s waiting list is now 14 years… Koeler and quinn, if I’m not wrong stopped taking orders, so did O’Brian… it seems like I HAVE to wait! :frowning:

Just keep a pile of money aside waiting for a used set to come up. This sometimes happens once or twice a year. Insist to the seller you’ll beat any real offers.
