Is It Safe?.

I’ve had my head below the parapet for some time now and as I’m not a maker anymore ,is it save to return the the ol’ C&F without being condemed to death.
I’ll wait and see.

The ex-whistlemaker.

Are you the person who makes(made) Kerry whistles?

I emailed somebody on ebay once and asked them what key a whistle was, and they told me K.

Well, until Loren (where is he???) comes back, you might be safe! I’ve got one of your whistles, so I’m not entitled to say anything!

It’s a free board, Phil. I don’t think you’ll be executed. Things have changed (as they are wont to do) during your absence. In some ways the board has become less personal, and in some ways it has become more accepting. It’s still a great thing.

Welcome back, and best of luck.

Jim

Hey Phil,
Is this why your website (kerrywhistles.com) has been down for a week or so?
Are the Chieftains still going to be produced now that you’ve become a full-time musician?

Phil,

I own a low d whistle that you didn’t make. I lull my children to sleep playing it. Too bad you’re not the maker. I’d thank you profusely.

Little John

Hi Phil.If you can come back then so can I He He

I’ve missed you, Phil. It would be nice seeing you back on the board, maker or not. Pity that there are occasional flames, but that is always a risk. I personally think that one is better off when the heat rises to not heat up with it. . .so much easier to say when there isn’t much of a stake.

Meanwhile…had a GREAT time on your website… there is a chance I’ll be in your area in two weeks. . .actually 10 days WHOOO HOOOOO!

As a player, I know you’re a valuable asset here!

There’s nae muckle doot in my mind, who yae be, ma wee lassie.

There’s only one way to know:

Your JEWELS suck!! YOUR JEWELS SUCK!!!

Hmmmm let’s see…

Point of order:

When you lose a flame war with Loren and leave the board forever, you aren’t supposed to even lurk.

Whoops! I guess that should apply to me, too.

I’ll slink back under my rock.

Is there anyone left who remembers?

Fondly,

Mr. Ass

P.S. - You’re wrong, Azalin. It isn’t Jessie. The hint is in my post (and Bloomfield’s). And it was jewelry, not jewels.

Argh! I should have known!

I never knew Jessie, but I miss her.

Welcome back, Phil. I bought one of your low D’s in San Fransisco over the weekend after hearing one played at a pub called Lefty O’Douls. It was right down from the hotel we stayed in. I love the way it sounds. It’s my first low whistle so I’m still getting used to it. Thanks!

Welcome back, Phil. I also hope your website gets back online.

As others have pointed out, the board has gone through some growing pains in your absence. Some have perceived an increase in (hostility/intolerance/whatever), I haven’t really noticed it. I would recommend not rising to any flame bait, though.

Ah come on back.

We need someone to put Serpie straight on the original “whistle of mass destruction”.

The Chieftain Gold Low-D, at 15-5/8 ounces of solid brass, is nearly a full pound of musical mayhem. Just perfect for those times when it would be considered impolite to carry a blackthorn shillelagh.

Sounds good too.

Frank O’Connor was playing it, I’m guessing? He sure plays it well.

Welcome back, Phil, Stacey, et al.

It makes me happy to see that I’m not the only person who can’t stay away from this place.

:astonished:
Aye yer canna fool the GREAT bloomie, nor the way to cool fer his own good Waldie :boggle:
