I guess if this posts, I will know that my problems are limited to the Private Message function.

Also, I wanted to thank LOREN for some valuable advice, but due to that error message, about which there has been at least one post so far, I cannot make contact.

Finally, I note that the ‘header’ for the board does not record my log in.

Lots of thigns are screwy. It isn’t notifying me by email when I get PMs.

Are you getting the fsocked debug thing?

Yes, I get that when I try to post a PM. I also note, though it is not a big deal, that even though I am posting, the system does not reckon me among those who are browsing the Board. I sure hope that this is in no way related to the large volume of e-mail I get every day regarding the augmentation of selected parts of my anatomy. I guy could get a complex…

I just now encountered the problem when trying to post to another thread. Maybe the Doric Order curse has drifted over here from the Gaelic Crossings board. (If you don’t know about that, don’t worry about it.)

You may be right about that! I was just over there and the Doric Ghost is gone! Page 4 is now page 4? :astonished:

I think something is whonky with the email server that C&F is using to send notification emails. I got it when I posted to Loren’s Cocus Cannon sale thread, so I am assuming that he is “watching” it and getting emails when replies are posted. I also got it trying to PM him. (Again an email thing.)

SMTP is an internet mailing protocol IIRC.

I’m not sure, but try this routine procedure:

  • Find a mirror.
  • Make sure there's adequate illiumination.
  • Place yourself in front of it (the mirror).
  • Do you see your reflection?

Thank you for the mirror thing. I tried it. Does the fact that there are three different persons in the reflection mean anything? Might I be able to enlist the assistance of the two “Others” and get the equivalent of chords if I can cajole them into playing complimentary whistles?
