Irish tunes on the harmonica

I think we’re straying on to territory when discussing the ins and outs of various harmonicas that will be frowned upon by the moderators :imp: -my fault, I started it  so I’ll be very brief.

There’s an expert review of the XB40 at http://www.planetharmonica.com/ph5/VE/Pat/XB-40PatUK.htm
My initial feelings are at http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/trad_irish_harmonica/page1.html

I’ll write offlist to Flying Cursor.

Cheers!

Steve, I just listened to some of your clips for the first time. They’re fabulous! My mom told me that my great-uncle used to play this stuff on a harmonica back in the 1930’s (well before my time), and I thought it seemed interesting. Thanks to you, I now know how nice it sounds. I’ll be ordering one of your cd’s in the next day or so.

I’ve just updated my site to include a very arbitrary list of about 60 of the tunes that I’ve found to be very rewarding to play on 10-hole diatonic harmonicas http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/trad_irish_harmonica/page6.html

I’ve also added a rant about playing fast  http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/trad_irish_harmonica/page7.html

Cheers!
