I recently received a shipment of some mammoth ivory, with one piece of elephant thrown in (yes, fully legal pre-ban schtuff) and promptly removed all labels. A few days later I realized I couldn’t tell the difference! Anyways, so I’ve now managed to educate myself regarding exactly how to tell the difference between mammoth and elephant…For those of you who are curious about customs inspections etc…check this out..

oofta, can you hear the crickets? Yikes, that was a topic killer!!
On a more serious note, I think oosic is too porous, and/or hollow in the middle. I’ve looked into it, but wasn’t very pleased with the results. I’ve used deer antler before with mixed results..when it works, it works GREAT. But it’s tough to get the right sizes needed with solid enough antlers. They tend to be very porous in the center.
