after a lot of research and contacting people, i have finally decided to get a CJ Dixon practice set, then upgrade from then on. his pipes seem to be real legit. thank you to everybody who helped me out in the research and info.

I’ve seen and heard some of CJs work and was impressed. His D chanters have a lovely tone and are very well in tune. (they are the only ones I’ve seen so far)

Well if he has’nt made regulators before that might be the problem, 
for the delay, making good regs can test a pipemaker, not as easy as one might think, getting them playing right in key. all the best.
I had one of CJ chanters and was very happy with it.
As regards the service, I can speak from personal experience. CJ quoted me a wait of 2 months and delivered the chanter on time. I’ve gone back to him for a few small things since then his service has always been very good.
No, we’re not doing this.
