Hunter's Moon

Hi Folks,
A little heads up to all you chiff members, about a pre-release - available internationally.
Please see below, the mail sent from HQ.

Cheers for now,
Calum

**Dear Friends,
We’re happy to announce the release of the forthcoming album “Hunter’s Moon” in January 2014!

The album will be released officially, in Brittany on the 17th January (Amzer Nevez), and 24th January in Scotland (Celtic Connections). “Hunter’s Moon” will be available through coop Breizh in France, and Proper distribution in UK, and of course better still - direct from us!

However, we have made available a limited amount, which are available to buy NOW as ‘pre-release’: 300 signed copies, are available for pre-release sale, to be posted at the beginning of the 2nd week in December. Take advantage of owning a signed copy of the new release, over a month in advance of the official release!

Cheers folks, Calum

lovely playing - reminds me of todd denman, perhaps james o’grady too

Nice work on the chanter. A bit fast for me. But really nice work. Driving rhythms. Solid.

Reminds me… not of Todd Denman… but of Cillian Vallely.

Hi Glands, thanks for the feedback. There are a mixture of speeds on different tracks, so hopefully a speed for everyone

hup! Last week of the pre-release sales (closes 4 Dec); there are a few copies left - available worldwide!

A few people are asking about my pipes: They are a mongrel set: an auld (and slightly battered!) boxwood concert set from Cillian O’Briain, with D chanters from Andy May and Benedict Koehler.

Calum

Hi Calum.

That’s a great set of pipes your playing and they sound amazing. Didn’t you used to play a Galloway set with an Aebi chanter?

I did indeed. Both are excellent makers and players: Great playability, tuning and finish on both.

They were in Ebony however, and I really prefer boxwood. I was lucky that a good friend offered me an old boxwood O’Briain set (sans chanter) which had been through the wars, but still playing great!

Hup… last day of pre-release folks! Own your copy over a month before the official release in January!

Really nice, Calum! Tempo is spot on…perfect for those kind of tunes. Looking forward to the album. You don’t sound like John McSherry or anyone, they all sound like you.

You can see the chanter Calum is using on p135 of the pictures thread.
