For all of you guys that have had stuff mailed from Ireland to the U.S., how long does it take?
Not from ireland per se, but my Dixon arrived from Tony in about one week.
Ireland specifically, I don’t know. From EEC to US it can take for weeks or four ever…
I have an Am. Express Traveller check sent by “Express mail” 5 weeks ago. Double Expresso–almost a full capuccino! Well, it’s in the limbo between Brittany and Ohio. Must be a Hitch-hiker czech.

Edited to ad we have newbie nations who recently joined the EEC : Czech, Latvia, Poland… but Tony I didn’t know. ![]()
Or you meant Blairland ?

When Steve sent me my whistles from Shanna Quay in Ireland, he said it would take 2 weeks but it wasn’t even that long maybe 6 to 10 days. It’s been awhile since I got them but he was very fast.
If they are shipped by (oversea)ship/boat and not airmail, It could take months. They tell the exchange students it can take up to 3 months to get their stuff that way.

Jack, there are several options for mailing things from Ireland. The fastest usually takes about ten days. Or weeks, if they use the slower options.
My whistles from Shannaquay also arrived very quickly. Surprised me, actually. I had put them out of my mind, figuring it would be at least a couple weeks before I should start running to meet the postman
.

A while back, I won a 10-pack of generation whistles on Ebay for a little over $30 from a company in Ireland. Took less than 2 weeks to get them.
I have had a package posted in Ennis in the morning arriving the next afternoon i nSan Francisco, a few weeks ago I posted a package on thursday in Ennis, Bill Ochs received it on monday morning in New York. Usually plain airmail is pretty quick.

My usual experience sending mail from Ireland is about 6 days until delivery. The strangest thing, however, was that I sent a letter to America from the remote island of Cape Clear, in the most remote post office I’ve been to, expecting the letter to arrive a month later, but it got there TWO DAYS LATER! I could not believe it. It takes a full day for them to just get the mail off the island. I still have no clue how it happened.
Best,
Chris
One key factor here is that both Chris and Peter were mailing to the east coast of the US, and Stout lives on the west coast. It’ll add a little time.
My record next day delivery was San Fran. I thought that was pretty impressive. That’s West isn’t. Maybe posting it in the West of Ireland speeded things up ![]()
Cape Clear to the East coast of Ireland in two days would be pretty good going these days.
