my mom’s office was on a farm that milked 1500 a day. 22 hours straight of milking.

But if you want to talk interesting procedures, I saw quite a few when I used to volunteer at the Center for Reproduction of Endangered Wildlife at the Cincinnati Zoo. Like artificially inseminating a bengal tiger…

I use to do all the AI’s of dogs at the vet clinic, since I’d learned to do it with an Alpha bitch of my own who would not deign to stand for breeding.

He,he. I’ll presume the male was anesthetized for “collection”, talk a bout a dangerous job!!!

well, the problem was the sperm couldn’t be “kept” at all, but needed to be “fresh”.
So there were two operating rooms set up, one for - ah - collection and one for insemination.
And large cats eyes do NOT shut when they are anestisized (I know I didn’t spell that correctly) - so they have to be bathed with saline the entire time.
And there’s that whole “electro-” stuff…

Anyway, it was quite a sight.

I wasn’t there the day they tried to do the gorillas…

That would’ve been a little too weird for me… large apes being so similiar to the human animal… it would’ve been a little too surreal for me I think. :laughing:
