How Bluezette Died

I’ve updated today’s web issue of the newsletter since I posted it earlier. I had some inquiries about exactly HOW the whistle died. I’ve added this:

“Bluezette died of Natural Causes,” writes L.E., “official cause of death was a severely cracked fipple. . . there had been several small mouthpiece fissures for years but the sound wasn’t adversely affected; one day one of the cracks inexplicably widened and let in too much air and that was it, the sound was pretty much gone. . . I tried basic repair — nail polish, duct tape, then prayer (I’m serious!). . . nothing could bring her back.”

Did he try a transplant?

Just think…if he had kept his promise…it would probably have blown up the computer. (I think you should sue.)
That piece was absolutely brilliant!!! Gm

I think that was the best newsletter I’ve ever read! Thanks so much for sharing, to both of you, Mr. McCullough and Mr. Wisely. I printed it out and intend to share it with all of my music-loving friends (who will understand completely, even if they aren’t whistleplayers!)

Take care!
