Help identifying this Banjo!

Hi Folks

I picked up this Banjo in a charity shop recently! and just needed some help identifying it.
From what I can gather it is a 7 string fretless banjo,well it was tagged as a guitarbanjo! It has a thin wooden rim and a brass rim on top.
It also has 40 Brass tension hooks.

I took it to my local music shop for some advice, he said judging by the amount of tension hooks and the quality of the inlays that it is a
well built instrument,also that it could be from around late 1800s to early 19th century.
I plan to rebuild the banjo as I’m keen to hear what its gonna sound like! also thought I would share it with you, and I might be lucky to get some info about it!

Yeah-- post them on Banjo Hangout’s Collector’s Corner forum. I found the nice people there very helpful.

Definitely a job for banjohangout. Seven strings and fretless. Very cool!
