so here’s the story. I have this friend that I want to impress and she absolutely adore the band ‘the corrs’ and the two songs mentioned above in particular. I want to play her those two songs with a tin whistle as it is a lot cheaper than a bodhran, guitar and a violin.
anyway, i was wondering if anyone has the tabs for the two songs mentioned above. I dont read sheet music and I cant really play by ear. the only thing i play is the recorder and I play that using tabs also.
I would be very happy if anyone is able to help me. Thank you
You can find both tunes here – JC’s ABC Tune Finder, but I don’t know if any of those file options are tabs.
But learning to read music is a small price to pay to impress a girl. And a couple of years down the road, when you are sitting alone in a bar, drinking to excess, picking crumbs off your tie, and thinking to yourself “I wonder what happened to old so-and-so,” you can at least take comfort in being able to read music, even if she is long gone.
Yep. Learn to read music…and develop an “educated” ear while you’re at it. These abilities will be with you for life. And the girls? (wait, let me check my files…) Yes, the girls may come and go.
when you go in this site click on partituras and then click on the tin whistle link and pdf files will be available for download. The pdf files has most of the corrs songs with tabs and also the sheet music. It’s very good…go check it out!
yo souzaco, awesome site…hey has anyone started with another instrument, read music, and then moved to whistle and then found it difficult to read notes for the whistle instead of the old instrument? coz I used to play piano and the transition is tough for my fingers. the eyes and the fingers somehow don’t work together. playing by ear is easier than reading notes now for me.
Haste to the wedding in Disfrutaloscorrs’ website is a bit incorrect though. I have been a Corr fanatic since '99 and have been playing thoise 2 instrumentals for 6 years now, AND i’ve learned to play them by ear too, and that’s much accurate than trying to follow the music sheets provided by that site…
I agree with you James. the HTTW is a little bit incorrect but it could be fixed though. I think the erin shore is okay, in fact the erin shore is beautiful. I havent tried the rest of the songs so I don’t know how the others are. Thanks Souzaco. This sure is a good site.
oo and Nikkiarrowsmith… they say it is better to play by ear rather than looking at the music sheet all the time because this way enables you to connect to your audience and tell them how you feel of a particular song…hehehe… this is just my $0.02
