As I was sitting here the other day not thinking about my Elfsong, having put it completely out of my mind I sent off a very small wad of doe to Mid East Trading Co…
So today as I was trying to learn Foggy Dew the UPS truck drove up and brought me a box full of totaly cheep and unherd of whistles. What fun. There is a Low G brass whistle whitch sounds great and is tune with it self, an A in bamboo that doesnt sound to bad and a high D whitch is a gass to play. Sounds reedy and woody and is actualy in pretty good tune. But the star of the bag is this huge Low D in bamboo. What a nice sound. Huge holes to plug but boy this thing sounds good. I think that cheep and realy funky just doesnt get enough time here. We need to search out the cheepest and funkiest whistles known to man. Soda straws with a V cut, blades of grass between thumbs, nose flutes, …black marble Elfsongs…

Well Zubivka you`ve done it to me again. I was stomping around the house just breathing fire after listening to that war mongering, totaly out of control, fascist president of ours waving his manhood all over the airwaves and then you hit me with this. Way to good. How do you do it. I should have known there is nothing new to the house of fipple. Thanks my friend I needed that. And thanks Av that is a clasick…![]()

I have this bamboo thing I got from the Peabody Museum gift shop in New Haven a year ago–actually three, one for me and the two kids (torment for the ride home–maybe the beginning of WhOA, looking back now). I’ll have to pull them out again and see how they sound after this post. They’re so rough you can smell the charcoal from where they burned out the interior!

I’ve finally stopped laughing at the title of this thread. I love it when phrases between American and British English clash so gloriously - if you’d ever played rugby at school you’d be with me on this one!
