Anybody else noting weirdness with Google? (it’s Saturday morning in the USA as I write.) It’s suddenly flagging all kinds of perfectly ordinary websites as potentially harmful and routing me to a warning screen. This happened this morning when I searched for “Berea.” (This motivated by Jack’s post about the post-storm conditions in Kentucky.) The first hit was Berea College, which I expected, but it was flagged as a suspicious site. Then I searched for “Lou Reed” and the first few returns were all flagged and led me to the same warning page.
Ok, now it’s happening with any and everything I Google. Must be a problem on my machine. I think I need to scan for viri.
Dale
Plot thickens. It’s happening with both my Windows machines and my Macbook. What the hell?
Naw, I’m getting it also!
Me thinks Google has issues
Whew! Thanks. That’s a relief. I thought I was having problems with my computers instead of just, you know, a PROBLEM WITH THE MOST MASSIVE DATABASE ON THE INTERNET WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY A VICTIM OF A CYBERATTACK BY CYBERTERRORISTS.
But at least it’s not my machines.
What happens when a site is flagged? Mine seems fine…but then I have no idea what to look for if it’s not.
They’ve apparently fixed the problem. Thank goodness. I was standing with my back to the door holding my shotgun waiting for the looters.
Thanks goodness. It’s like going away, then coming back to discover there was a massive snowstorm, but they got it all plowed before
you had to deal with it. Thanks Dale.
you’re not very good at problem determination concerning computers ![]()
Denny, shhhh! He’ll start, you know, experimentin’ again … ![]()
hmm, good point…
Perhaps some light reading on database design and usage?
Nah. I’ll wait for the movie to come out.
get ahead of the curve,
just take a nap
and pretend you’d watched it!
Looks good now Dale. It kept popping up some weird “Malware this site might might harm your computer” warning right? It flagged some of my everyday sites but not C&F…hmmmm… ![]()
