Good whistle music

In bluegrass music we have lots of instrumentalist recordings such as Johnny Staats or Sam Bush on the mandolin, Butch Robins for the banjo etc…for listening and learning.
Is there any good whistle recordings out there, with good whistling where I could listen and learn from ? I have quite a lot of Irish music CD’s but there’s not as much whistles (well, maybe on Cherish the ladies or Matt Molloy) as there are fiddles. Would you have any suggestion? Is Matt Molloy the best?

Unfortunately, there aren’t really any good whistle recordings out there. Sorry.
However, you might check out thislink to some discussion of great music made on the recorder, a far more respectable instrument. Look about three-quarters of the way down on the first post for some good suggestions.
Best,
Chris

P.S - Sweden… mmmmm… good food, good music, good alcohol, bad girls (in a good way  )… mmmmmm. I really never should have said goodbye to those two Swedish performance bartenders :frowning:
Maybe it’s about time to go pay my grandmother’s side of the family a visit. it’s really warm and sunny over there right now, right?

Hi Chris,
I just checked your link, Thats what I call a recommendation, I just got “In Good Company” yesterday and fingers crossed, I might get “Frost is all Over” for Christmas. I just know this is going to get expensive.

Cheers, Mac
