Generation high F way out of tune and thoughts on other keys

Oops. Have we done the “try filling the cavity” line yet? It worked well on my Gen F…

Nope, haven’t tried it. Do you have a link to describe how to do it?

Here you go.

The basics of it are to pack under the fipple with blu-tack/poster putty.

Thanks. I will try it and report back.

I ordered a freeman tweaked generation D & Bb. I’d like to compare tweaked vs. non-tweaked but I don’t want another F (too high pitched) so I got the standard D and a Bb which I hear is pretty good. I’m curious to see what this tweaking is all about.

Based on my experience with Freeman’s Mellow Dog and Blackbird, I think you’re going to love it.

I’ve heard great things about the mellow dog, unfortunately after I ordered the Generations. For some reason I just really like my Generation F, except for the out of tune note (C natural). I really didn’t plan to get this whistle acquisition syndrome but at the same time if I’m playing a whistle for an hour/day then I’d like to try a few and pick the one I like best. When I bought a digital piano I went to several music stores and spent several hours playing all the models. I could do that with headphones, and there aren’t whistle stores where I live. Ok I’m justifying it.

This isn’t unique to whistles, amateur photographers do the same thing with lenses & cameras.

At least with whistles you can actually fork out for a few and it not be very expensive, unlike other musical instruments and decent photography equipment.

“Why do you need another lens?”

“Well I don’t have one like this one.”

Been there, done that.

I’m sure Jerry’s tweeked Generations are as good as the others. You’re going to be amazed at how easier it is to play.
