Gaelic Roots Week

I am going next week. If anyone else from the board is let me know.

Should be fun. It looks like Joannie Madden and LE McCullough(sp?) will be the teachers.

Wish I was… :frowning: Tony McManus is teaching up there  .
Have a great time, we’ll want to know everything about it!

We went in 2000. Joanie taught then too. We had a great time and are jealous! All you have to do to get in Joanie’s class is be able to play a reel.

I’ll be living in MA next year, so I should be able to go to this! (I’ll also be employed, which has been a bit of a stumbling block in attending things . Hope Joanie is teaching then – and that the requirement is still playing a reel. (Not playing a reel well, right? )

On the Session discussion board, people are saying this might be the last year. Here’s the link to the discussion:

Hope it isn’t so…I was hoping to go next year.

Robin

P.S., If one isn’t registered, how is it to go listen in the evening, and which night would be recommended?

Robin, when I went the evening concerts were basically different combinations of teachers, about 4 at a time, playing a set each. It was OK, and probably I liked the concert earlier in the week. By Saturday everyone is fried from lack of sleep - students AND teachers.

Only people who are registered for Gaelic Roots are allowed in to the evening concerts/recitals. They are much stricter in enforcing this than they used to be. Basically, if you are not registered the only Gaelic Roots activities you can participate in are the outdoor tent sessions.
