The Going of the Women through the Battlefield. It refers to them searching for their loved ones after the slaughter is over, and is part of a larger work. For some reason I can’t recall what that is right now. Sigh.
Actually, it’s literally “The weeping of the women in the slaughter.” There should be a fada (acute accent) over the “A” in “Ar.”

Oh, I’d presumed that “gol” was an archaic spelling of the verbal noun “goil”. 
Actually, “gol” IS the verbal noun of the verb “gol/goil”…“weep.”

Oh, and here was the source of my confusion: goil is also the verbal noun to gabh (“go”), at least in the Cois Fhairrge dialect, according to my little source.
In the liner notes to Peadar Ó Riada’s album Amidst These Hills, he translates it as “The Crying of the Women among the Slaughtered”.
A ha, so it’s those Connacht boys messing things up again, eh?

Well, if you’re a Dub, you simply say, “Culchie!”
I’d say “Connachtach.” The other would be plural.
