FS Wilkes 8 keyed flute

Hi,
I’m looking to sell my 8 key Wilkes, but not sure what it is worth/how much to ask..so seeing as y’all seem like a trust worthy bunch..any advice would be welcomed..

I’ve not had it that long but find I prefer my other flute..
Chris gave it an MOT/overhaul last year and said it was fine..I think it’s from the around 1995..well played in but in good overall condition. Around the embouchure sometimes seems a little dry after playing but Chiris said this was fine and just to put a cloth with almond oil on it in the embouchure when the instrument is in the box..seems fine..any thoughts on value/price before I post..

thanks
Tom

It’s worth about 2 and 6, but I’ll take it off your hands for a fiver if you like.

Alternatively, I could offer my right leg. (I need the arm to play the thing.)

A 13 year old eight key Wilkes went for 4500 USD = 2677 sterling in September 2012

And another went for a similar amount in the December IIRA - haven’t checked back, but I know two went by about then. Yep, U$4.5k or equivalent would seem reasonable ball-park.

Hi Tom, Shane here from Annecy! Gosh, I’d love to have tried that. Yes, sounds like it’s easily worth well over 2000 but these guys here will know better than that. An 8 keyed Wilkes will not go unnoticed on Ebay, but you defo need good photos. The photos are very important. Are you coming over this way anytime soon?
Shane

Hi,
Thanks for the advice re price and interest expressed in the flute. A friend here is thinking of buying and has it on trial. I’ll put up a post in a few weeks if it’s still available.

thanks again

cheers

Tom

The header of this thread should be modified to delete the FS, since the flute is not actually for sale here at this time.
