And I sort of play the original model it was based on (nearly anyway). Mine is plenty loud and honking, has a great sound (you don’t have to sound like Grey Larsen on it if you don’t want to, I don’t anyway, I sound just like I would on an R&R style flute), it’s very air economic- I can play longer phrases than on any R&R or Pratten style flute I’ve tried, and the ornamentations come out extremely crisp. I’m sure that with McGee’s modern embouchure cuts and improved tuning, this flute is hard to beat. I know I’m not going back to large holes and bore in a hurry anyway
When I can get the sound and volume I want and still have the advantage of easier filling and crisper responce I don’t see the point.
I’d buy this flute myself, but I’ve just bought a very special ring, and I want to buy a new batch of
whisky

I’m the lucky new owner of the Rob Forbes Flute. Just wanted to say thank you for the great flute and the nice contact. gododdin is a really nice person. I know C&F is not eBay, but I’d rate him A+++ nevertheless.
Everything went smooth …
… at least until the goods reached the German border where the “Deutsche Post” messed up. They decided that it would be a good idea to drop the mailing at some random neighbor and mark it as delivered without letting me know where to pick it up. So I had the tracking information telling me that the shipping had been delivered, but I was still without a flute and no clue where to look for it. For an insured shipment of goods this really is a huge no go. I will have to whip some asses for this incompetent handling of my precious new flute!
Let me jump into this love-fest by seconding empie’s remarks. I bought my first flute, an M&E, from Gododdin and he was a pleasure to deal with. If I had the money I definitely would have gone for his McGee too. Someone got a nice deal on a flute.
