Less than a week after receiving it, spending several hours sanding, polishing, gluing, taping (it was ‘rough’ when I first opened it) and starting no less then THREE threads regarding it on the Whistle Forum I’ve decided to part with this brobdingnagian instrument
It’s a beautiful whistle with a quite divine tone but … WAY too quiet for my needs (especially lower octave) Playing with Jazz/Blues/Asian musicians and busking outdoors a great deal I need volume this beast sadly lacks
Not looking to make any profit on it, the cost of instrument, carriage, duty, tax, refurbishment totals around £130.00 (will let overseas readers do the relevant conversion) I will happily accept the same sum for it. £5.00 P&P in UK, overseas at cost (this was $40.00 from US, hopefully the reverse will be less expensive I recently send a Goldie Low ‘D’ to New York and it was a mere $18.00)
I am currently seeking a Susato Kildare Low ‘D’ and would be happy to accept one of these in part exchange

Addenda: Post arrived as I was typing this and with it came a padded Pool/Snooker cue case fits the whistle perfectly and will be sent with whistle and no extra cost
My great thanks to the gentleman who purchased it (same chap who bought my not quite as Low ‘A’) and I hope he will be delighted with it
I would also like to express my disappointment at the ‘gentleman’ (you know who you are) who TWICE expressed an interest, yet seemed unable to contact me to complete the transaction
If anyone else is interested in a Bass ‘A’ in future may I suggest you contact John Bushby at Shearwater who is making an ‘A’ prototype soon:
