I am offering the following items for sale at a price of $1000 even, shipping & insurance included.
-Naill ABW chanter, no sole, made around 1987
-Naill ABW drones, imitation ivory mounts (The yellowing kind), made around 1985.
Additional info - I am not listing this as a full set because the stocks are currently tied into a left-handed (IE right-shouldered) L & M bag. So, either I could replace the bag before shipping (for a correspondingly greater price) or you can replace the bag with what works for you.
Condition:
-This set is well played but in fine condition. The drones have some minor cosmetic wear (Nicks and scratches) but no cracks.
-The chanter is a replacement for the original, which cracked. The tuning is very good. . .depending on the reed, the F sometimes needs a bit of tape.
-The blowpipe stock is not original to the set, and has a nickel-silver ferrule rather than imitation ivory.
- Also included are a full-sized case and five synthetic drones reeds (2 bass, 3 tenor)
-This is a no-frills, very good sounding set of pipes. I competed successfully with it in the 80’s in both solo and band competitions up to grade II EUSPBA, and the set received complements on its sound. I’m parting with them, regretfully, because I have no practice space and my musical interests have changed. The proceeds from this sale will go to some new toy, maybe a keyed flute or a harp.
