FS - Martin Doyle keyless D

Hello all i am selling my martin Doyle D two piece flute (no tuning slide)

The flute has a really nice sound with the bottom D easy to play, no tuning slide makes it sound and feel different giving it a dark tone.

I have kept it oiled and I’ve replaced the tenon cork.

i am looking 450 euro for it, great flute no offers, buyer plays shipping insurance etc

I’ve just received a new keyed Grinter so I won’t play this although if it doesn’t sell I won’t be too disappointed

I might consider a swap for a modern C or Eb flute.

The flute comes with Martins standard flute box.

Hi. Will you say what sort of wood it’s made of? Also which style of flute it is (classical or celtic)? Thanks

Hi Jim, yes sure it’s made from African Blackwood, and is an Irish flute, you can refer to Martin Doyle’s website for more details.

A few eminent players use them, Gary Hastings has one which he used to great affect at a workshop I attended.

Also check Eimear McGeown playing the Doyle on YouTube absolutely mind blowing.
