FS : Hammy Hamilton Flute

Hi there , I’ve come over from the Uilleann Forum. One of the guy who plays flute and pipe in our sessions is selling one of his flutes to fund a chanter. Here’s the details , if interested contact Richard directly.

Hammy Hamilton flute for sale

This is a six keyed D flute in blackwood that I had made in 1996, the first quality flute that I ever bought. It is in four pieces with cork joint linings which are all tight and was made on a Rudall Rose pattern. As such it plays with a slightly sweeter tone than standard Hamilton flutes. I’ve been playing this in over the last month and the volume is equivalent to my Sam Murray but I think it plays naturally at a slightly quieter level. The keys all function perfectly and are silver coated.

The head joint has a very fine split in it about 15mm long leading up to the joint. This is a split rather than a crack-ie it isn’t open. I never had it repaired because it didn’t affect the tone or tuning. The metal head lining sits underneath this.
This is a great flute for sessions with a beautiful tone and from a prestigious maker.

Current price new from Hamilton Flutes is 2875Eur.

I’m selling this for £1400 ono plus shipping. E-mail me at
