FS: Erik the Flutemaker Low D

I’ve got an Erik the Flutemaker low D flute (“Irish,” but also somewhat asian/bansuri-like – just an ethnic bamboo flute). This is going for $80. It was More than $120 new and it is in excellent condition. Comes with leather bag. It has a phenomenal tone and is in tune for 1.5 octaves. I’ve heard from reliable sources that this is the case with all of his flutes. Again, you can only get the 2nd octave B and C# in tune by venting the first two holes. This is a great starter or intermediary flute to learn embouchure and fingering. However, the tone is great and may also be of interest to someone in more professional circumstances looking for a good alternate sound for recordings. As I’ve “outgrown” the flute, I’ve still gotten a lot of good use out of it in this way. I’ve used this instrument as a pad, harmonizing with other flutes, and also as a lead; listening back to recordings it frequently tricks me out into thinking there is a woman singing on the recording (even after I just played it).

I’m also selling a bunch of Susato whistles. Check out the whistle forum if you are interested in those.

BUT WAIT; there’s more. I’m ALSO selling some quenas. Check out the world/folk winds forum for that.

Bumping this thread and taking the price down to $60. Also note: Shipping to continental US only.

 Just wanted to add that Erik’s flutes are truly excellent. Very nice tone and timbre and playability. And he is very nice person too.
