B chanter, stamped Dan O’Dowd but most likely made by Johnny Bourke, late 70’s or early 80’s, part of a set that
was in Florida for many years and came back to Ireland in 2006. The g and f hole have been moved by a few millimetres, chanter has a c nat key and is blocked for additional keys. Plays with a really nice tone, in tune across both octaves, solid hard bottom d, soft d in tune, beautiful back D. Relatively easy blowing as currently set up. Is it a 17 inch chanter? Mine plays sharp of B and is in tune with itself there. It doesn’t like playing in B but can get there with a rush.
