Hi,
I’m going to sell my O’Briain D chanter: It was made in 2000, has 2 brass keys., but I don’t know the wood (very dark brown).
I sell it with a very good “medium reed” I made for it.
It is in excellent condition and sounds very well ! Easy to play, in-tune (both octaves)…

EDIT: Contact me by email (Serious offers please).
Merci,
ps: I shall be absent for some days thus take your time to think of it.
S O L D (thank you!)
Oh man,
I’ve already got an O Briain chanter and I’ve got another chanter coming to me in the mail as we speak…But I WANT THIS ONE ANYWAY…Dear God, O Briains don’t come up for sale very often ('cause they’re truly the sheep’s cojones). If you don’t plan on playing G# or Bb, then this is the only concert pitch chanter you could ever possibly need. O Briains tend to be fairly robust in volume, but you can manage to get them reeded at a more moderate volume if you make the right sort of reeds for them. I have an Angus reed in mine that’s just a touch quieter than the average O Briain reed would be & I love it.
Judging from the date (2000), I’d say this is likely one of the last chanters that Cillian turned out with fairly “normal” looking keywork before he switched to doing more blatantly Tayloresque stuff.
Something tells me that the buyer isn’t going to have much trouble selling this one. Take a number now, people!
Shoot, I wish I was in the ‘buying way’.
That Fnat key is interesting. Is it counter-levered?

That stick has some seriously scalloped holes… reminds me of a pistol grip. I’m not saying that’s bad, just merely observing.
my galloway stick is alot like this one.
EDIT: After all, I prefer that you contact me by email… because my PM box will be full in few hours.
Sorry for those who had no answers… so I write a collective one:
1- I live in France (Brittany)
2- For the moment I haven’t got a sound sample (maybe next week)
3- This chanter can be loud, but can be sweet (it depends on reeds! ) but I confirm it’s not a Narrow bore chanter.
4- I would like for the chanter 1600 Euros (or more
if you won the lottery)
5- I confirm it’s a very good chanter in perfect condition!
6- It is quite easy to make reeds for it (M. Burton, M.Moller,M. Faden will certainly agree)
I will examine every demand attentively in few days… so I’m waiting for your emails.
Good night
So is there a set that goes along with it? Any chance there?
