freak march snowstorm

at noon:

2 hours later

Note that the snow has risen to the level of the bottom support beam on the fence.

barely making it up the driveway:

I know this isn’t big snow for some parts of the world, but for us, it’s crazy!

I imagine so.
Here in Chicago we can expect snow until mid April.
I think our last frost date is mid May.

I’ve been wearing my thermal long underwear this season since Oct.
Mid Dec. I bought an Anglo concertina.
We all deal with the white stuff in our own way.

now for the cute pics

Making a snow angel

This one hit him right in the face. Kung fu FTW!

Letting him have his revenge

we’re getting about 2 inches an hour

So I take it you don’t live in Houston anymore?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Where are ya, Greg?

–James

We had a march snowstorm earlier in the week. At one point it must have got as deep as 3 millimetres. Been that kind of winter sigh

Just north of Dallas

I am watching this one on the weather maps. It is supposed to move up out of Texas and nail us in the Great Lakes region on Friday night. Current forecast is for a minimum of 20 cm of snow. My biggest concern is that it doesn’t turn into several hours of freezing rain.

Thank you, Texas.

Do not send any to the Mid-Atlantic, thanks.

Or to the North Country of New York! I appreciate it!

Do I dare look at the weather reports? I’m sure that it’s more than likely supposed to come this way…they ALL come this way :stuck_out_tongue:

WAIT!! DALLAS!!! Where in Dallas?

IT’S THE WHITE DEATH!!!

they are calling for 7 - 10 inches here by mid-Saturday. Which means we’ll get nothing, or several feet of it.

Woohoo! Glad you and Young Grasshopper are out enjoying it. Makes the hot cocoa taste SO much better.

Stay warm and drive careful, everybody! Spring is on the way. :sunglasses:

North of Dallas–Denton, though I’m working in Addison off Arapaho and the North Tollway.

yeah, 3 days ago, weather.com said today was supposed to be in the 70’s. Today, it’s predicting more snow starting around midnight, and off-and-on all day tomorrow. Schools have already announced that they’re closed tomorrow.

Happily it’s going south of us. We’ll be cold for a couple days but no major snow. Then we move into the 40s!!! It’ll be like spring. We might even hit 50 by next weekend!!!

Predicting 10-14 inches here in Cleveland. On Monday it was 65. On Tuesday we had a monster freezing rain storm that covered everything with ice–worst in years. Yesterday it got to 40 and melted. Just another March in Ohio.

I just saw a news clip about a big sinkhole in a Cleveland intersection due to the heavy rains.

sigh All we ever get is freezing rain and teaser flurries anymore.
No real snow for… nigh on 4 years. Warm and rainy today. (Not
complaining about the rain, though. We need it!)

North of Dallas–Denton, though I’m working in Addison off Arapaho and the North Tollway.

Gee- that’s scary, I know where Denton is.

Yes, and worst of all it threatens the annual St Patrick’s Day parade!!!

UPDATE: the snow started here about 10:10It looks like it means business.

It probably should be over in the procto area, but how do you feel about Green Jesus now?
